New data manager for WoRMS: Leen Vandepitte Added on: 2012-06-15 13:51:31 | The Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) has appointed Leen Vandepitte as the new data manager for WoRMS.
Leen is a biologist with a lot of experience in biological data management. In the VLIZ data centre, she is also responsable for the management of EurOBIS. Wim Decock (biologist) and Bart Vanhoorne (IT specialist) will of course continue to serve in the data management team for WoRMS. [Read more] |

PRESS RELEASE: Flanders invests in European research infrastructures Added on: 2012-05-18 16:52:40 | | On Tuesday 8 May 2012, the Flemish Minister of Innovation Ingrid Lieten launched four Flemish projects of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructure (ESFRI). As such the Flemish government engaged to contribute to these European initiatives to set up joint research infrastructures. The Minister reserved, in the framework of the Flemish innovation policy, for this purpose 3.5 million EUR. VLIZ will actively participate in two of these ESFRI projects, namely ICOS and LifeWatch. Although the treatment in three separate orders is now accepted, we have chosen to present mysids, lophogastrids and stygiomysids in the same web interface.
