Services for entrepreneurs
The Flanders Marine Institute does not exclusively aim at a target audience of scientists, policy makers, journalists and educational personnel. A broad interested audience and numerous companies can also take advantage of the numerous services provided by the VLIZ.
Within this scope the VLIZ fulfils a bridging function between the marine and coastal research community in Flanders and the corporate world - with the necessary quality guarantees - and participates in the elaboration of projects to reinforce Flanders as a maritime knowledge area. On the basis of this concern the VLIZ has been recognised as a knowledge centre by the Institute for the Promotion of Innovation by Science and Technology in Flanders (IWT) and is a member of the steering committee Innovatiecentrum West-Vlaanderen (West Flanders Innovation Centre).
In concrete terms, the VLIZ can:
- assist in the guidance of marine/maritime innovative research projects
- supply addresses of marine experts (through the IMIS database of experts)
- offer a wide range of sea information and sea data
Entrepreneurs furthermore have the possibility to keep themselves abreast of marine affairs by taking out a free subscription to the digital marine magazine
‘VLIZINE’ or to the information magazine about the Flemish coast
‘De Grote Rede’ (both in Dutch). And it goes without saying that you can
