You have a political mandate or work as an official in a particular administration and are interested or involved in the marine and coastal policy as a consequence. If this is the case, the VLIZ can constitute an important contact point as well!
We help you on the basis of our own expertise or via our close contacts with over 500 marine and coastal scientists in Flanders or with the international community. As marine and coastal sciences in the broadest sense constitute the daily scope of work of the VLIZ, we dare to say that we also have a broad understanding of the marine scientific and political ‘sea landscape’ of Belgium.

We keep marine scientists and the public at large informed of marine affairs by means of the free distribution of the digital marine magazine
‘VLIZINE’ (in Dutch) and the information magazine about the Flemish coast
‘De Grote Rede’ (in Dutch). Through these publications we attempt to translate often very technical information into politically relevant knowledge.
