An ocean of knowledge

The sea is much more important to our entire society than we generally realise. Oceans cover 2/3 of the surface of the earth, most weather is ‘made at sea’, 70 - 90% of all oxygen is produced in the oceans, 90% of all goods are transported by sea, and we can continue like this for quite some time ... Yet our knowledge of this gigantic salty stretch of water is still very limited. Education has a very important part to play in this respect and we would like to assist in this process!

In this section we present a few products specially designed for educational purposes:

• Planeet zee 2006-2010 (in Dutch): an science project for students from 16 tot 19 years old based on European marine science strategy policy paper "Navigating the future" of European Science Foundation. Planet ocean, the English demo version
• Expedition Zeeleeuw 2004-2006 (in Dutch): problem solved learning with the North Sea as a context
