Monitoring Network Flemish Banks
The Monitoring Network Flemish Banks (Meetnet Vlaamse Banken) was set up for the acquisition of real-time oceanographical and meteorological data along the Belgian coast and on the Belgian continental shelf.
- The oceanographic parameters monitored are waves, tidal height, current and water temperature.
- The meteorological parameters are wind, air pressure, air temperature and rainfall
(see 'about' page for details on these measurements, including locations).
The Network is sponsored by the government of Flanders, and set up and maintained by the Coastal Division of the Agency for Maritime and Coastal Services (MDK). VLIZ has been invited to make data resulting from the Monitoring Network available to third parties.
A graph with recent values, measured up to 30 days ago, is directly available from this web site for all measured parameters and for all measured locations.
Are you looking for raw data instead of a graph, or data older than 30 days?
- Data of the monitoring network are freely available for scientists through the MVB download pages (registration necessary).
- For other applications and requests, send a mail to VLIZ.
