Logistic support

The VLIZ provides logistic support to researchers by taking care of the management, maintenance and manipulation of research infrastructure and equipment.

The oceanographic research vessel ‘Simon Stevin’ can be used in the Belgian part of the North Sea and with expansion in the southern part of the North Sea and the eastern part of the English Channel. The ‘Zeekat' is a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) that can be used both from the Simon Stevin and autonomously. The VLIZ also manages the greenhouses in De Haan. We furthermore put equipment and storage facilities at the disposal of Flemish scientists. Upon request, VLIZ can put meeting and conference room facilities at your disposal and provide a printing service for scientific posters.
