Data Acquisition on the 'Zeeleeuw'

A computer network on board the R/V ‘Zeeleeuw’ registers the navigational, meteorological and oceanographic (physico-chemical) data during the journey.

This data is kept and maintained in the MIDAS database, which stands for Marine Information and Data Acquisition System.

The system also helps to plan the cruises and register the activities of the ship. The software of the data acquisition system was developed by the VLIZ. The manual to use MIDAS on board can be downloaded here.
