Cooperation
- AWZ Fleet Department
A collaboration agreement between DAB Fleet and the VLIZ ensures the scientific operations of the Zeeleeuw. In its capacity as owner of the Zeeleeuw, DAB Fleet takes care of the crew and technical maintenance and bears all operational costs. The VLIZ is responsible for the programming as well as the scientific equipment of the Zeeleeuw.
- R/V Belgica
The VLIZ uses the 'Zeeleeuw' to complement the R/V Belgica. A cooperation agreement concluded between MUMM and VLIZ constitutes the basis for an optimal use of the means of both organisations. The conditions for the use of infrastructure and instruments are identical and applications for shipping time are coordinated.
- ERVO
The ‘European Research Vessels Operators’ (ERVO) is an informal network of people responsible for research vessels. At an annual meeting experiences are exchanged and common problems discussed.
- MarinERA
MarinERA is an ERA-net project of the European Commission (2004-2008). MarinERA is a form of cooperation between governmental bodies of 13 member states that are responsible for the funding of marine research projects. MarinERA aims at the coordination of national and regional research activities. The VLIZ is a voluntary partner in this project and plays a role in the mapping of European marine research facilities.
