Projects
The Marine Library is active on various fronts. The Marine Libary is active on various fronts. Apart from the daily services for our users we also participate in a number of projects and cooperate in different networks.
The VLIZ library actively participates in the following projects:
- Gradual further development of a Flemish platform that offers access to all aquatic libraries and literature collections in our region.
- Management of the Euraslic organisation and hosting of the website of this organisation.
- Development of a group catalogue of journals for marine libraries in Central and Eastern Europe; this catalogue will be housed in the IMIS database and the publications from these collections will be made available to all users of the VLIZ library.
- Development of the ‘Aquatic Commons’: a distributed worldwide system intended to give access to all available digital marine information (under development).
