VLIZ Young Marine Scientists' Day 2011, where you have to be present!

Kindly block 25 February in your diary. On that day VLIZ organises the 2011 edition of the VLIZ Young Marine Scientists' Day. A day where you can meet the marine and coastal scientists from the region of Flanders and surroundings. A day interesting for students and recently started researchers, as well as for senior reserachers. For all of them it is definitively important to get an overview of the very diverse and high qualitative marine research landscape in our region.
We challenge the researchers to present their ongoing or finalised work during the extensive poster session. The posters will be judged by the public and by a professional jury. Send us a short, but attractive abstract before 11 December (in English, max. 500 words, following a template). All abstracts will be published in a ‘VLIZ Special Publication’.
Twenty abstracts will be selected for a plenary oral presentation (very short, 5 minutes only!). A PowerPoint presentation of max. 5 slides will be allowed, though we challenge those who want to go a step further to work without PPT. A remarkable object or piece of literature (which can be displayed plenary with a camera-system) can do.
An invitation, the final programme and registration form will follow early January 2011.
