1st EMODnet Open Sea Lab: bootcamp

During a three day open data bootcamp coders, developers, data enthusiasts will ideate and co-create innovative solutions to unique problems using EMODnet’s wealth of marine data and ocean observations. From 15-17 November 2017 in the vibrant Startup Village in the port city of Antwerp (Belgium). Wanted: creative persons!

Encoders, developers and data enthusiasts can participate in the 1st EMODnet Open Sea Lab, an open-data bootcamp under the professional guidance from the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), the R&D and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies (IMEC) and iMinds.

Maritime companies with a unique challenge, environmental managers interested in new tools to map or manage a marine area, students or entrepreneurs with a new idea ... Whatever your experience or interest, everyone is welcome to submit a proposal for the bootcamp.

The EMODnet Open Sea Lab will bring together experts in European marine data management (EMODnet and VLIZ) with experts in digital innovation (IMEC) and mentors of iMinds to turn innovative ideas into working applications. The bootcamp will match-make and bring together teams and will involve ideation, co-creation, prototype development and validation by mentors.

The 1st EMODnet Open Sea Lab bootcamp will take place from 15-17 November 2017 in De Serre, the vibrating heart of the StartUp Village in Antwerp, Belgium.

On 22 September 2017, also in De Serre in Antwerp, there will be a kick-off information moment on the Open Sea Lab initiative to inform potential participants and entice them into writing a proposal. The kick-off moment will be broadcasted.
