Incomes in 2017

  • Projects and grants: 5,980.00 EUR (24%)
  • Membership fees: 14,590.00 EUR (59%)
  • Donations: 1,380.10 EUR (6%)
  • Other incomes: 2,630.74 EUR (11%)

Expenses in 2017

  • Brilliant Marine Research Ideas: 8,051.69 EUR (66%)
  • North-south cooperation: 900.00 EUR (8%)
  • Fundraising: 2,350.60 EUR (19%)
  • Administration: 879.21 EUR (7%)

Transfer 2018

Some amounts are reserved for expenses in 2018, i.e. part of the finances of 'De Grote Schelpenteldag' which took place at 17 March 2018, the payment of the final amounts of the Brilliant Marine Research Idea grants which will be given at the beginning of 2018 and the transfer of the travel grants in the framework of the north-south cooperation that was spent March 2018.



Your gift will be used to support projects that benefit the sea. You can rest assured that this is done transparently.

  • The Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) vzw subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the Association for Ethics in Fundraising. You have a right to information.This means that donors, volunteers and staff are at least informed annually of what was done with the acquired funds.
