Description
Version 1 of the Internal Waters from the VLIZ Maritime Boundaries Geodatabase. Internal Waters are the waters on the landward side of the baseline of a nation's territorial waters, except in archipelagic states. It includes waterways such as rivers and canals, and sometimes the water within small bays. more

The Maritime Boundaries available for download on Marine Regions website are now on its 9th version. This version not only builds on what was made in earlier versions but it also adds shapefiles for areas and lines that, to the best of our knowledge, had never been published before at a global scale. In this new release, Marine Regions makes available most of the maritime areas defined in the Law of the Sea Convention: Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ), Territorial Seas (TS), Contiguous Zones (CZ), Internal Waters (IW) and Archipelagic Waters (AW).
