Description
A series of BALAR campaigns between 2001 and 2006. Projects MEDER, DEMO, EVADEM y EVADEMED. The goal of the campaigns was to assess the demersal resources of Mallorca and Menorca by bottom trawling. more

Temporal coverage: From 2001 to 2006, one month campaigns during spring (April-June). In 2001 there was also a BALAR campaign during autumn, BALAR 0901. Sampling methods: To locate the sampling stations we took into account a geographical sectorization and a bathymetric stratification based on pre-existing information of the area of study on oceanographic features, geomorphological characteristics, the distribution of the commercial fleet and its main fishing grounds, and depth distribution of demersal resources.
