Description
This dataset results from experiments made with settlement devices to determine the recruitment potential of the endemic bivalve Pinna nobilis . more

An innovative technique on settlement devices was developed and tested to collect individuals of the endemic bivalve Pinna nobilis to determine ist recruitment potential. This potential was analyzed and associated to the status of the adult population of Pinna nobilis. The main goals were:
    1) Set up of the new technique of recruitment from Pinna nobilis individuals; 2) Establish the recruitment potential of Pinna nobilis individuals associated to the relation between the population status and the recruited specimens of Pinna nobilis by the settlement devices. 3) Determine the correlation between the status of the Posidonia oceanica meadows and the Pinna nobilis populations. 4) Generate applied data for the management and conservation of Pinna nobilis related to potential fecundity and settlement picks of the species.
