Description
The current maps show graphically the results of the OPTOS / COHERENS model. This operational model by MUMM used to do hydrodynamic predictions. The currents were determined by using the computer, solving equations that describe the propagation of a tidal wave in shallow water. These equations were adapted to the Belgian coastal zone and describe the evolution in time and space of the water level and the components (north and east) of the average flows.
