![]() Description
"Permanent acoustic receiver network in the Cies Islands (National Park Illas Atlanticas of Galicia, NW Spain).
The array was stablished as a result a national project, TAC (Pleamar program 2018), to evaluate the efficiency of the National Park as a marine protected area. This fixed array currently use VEMCO receivers (69 kHz) to monitor movement and behaviour of relevant coastal species. The array is deployed in shallow waters (up to 20 meters) of the national park.
This array represents the unique permanent acoustic network deployed in a Spanish marine protected area that provide annual records of movement and behavior of different coastal fish species.
