DEDISA is a corporation own 100% by the municipal government of the city of Chania and it is responsible for collection, separation, recycling and landfilling of solid wastes in the prefecture of Chania (170 EMP). The main activities of DEDISA are as follows: · Residential collection of Municipal Solid Wastes (MSW) · Residential recycling. · Commercial recycling · Green waste collection · Recycling services for special streams of solid wastes: collection of e-waste · Municipal Solid Waste Recycling and Composting Plant of Chanea (one of three in Greece): management and operation · Landfill disposal: Management and operation of landfill of Chanea · Awareness for Sustainable Development - School-awareness Programme (reviewed and supplemented every year in accordance to local needs and response).
