| "DAB Vloot was part of Ministerie van de vlaamse Gemeenschap; Administratie Waterwegen en Zeewezen in the previous structure. Tasks are: ensuring in the most efficient way, the shoring up and beaconing of the Western Scheldt, in Belgian coastal waters and ashore; the assurance of a permanent rescue and towing service for the Flemish Coast; provision of craft and crew for activities under the auspices of the Flemish Region and certain federal departments; the provision of smooth and safe shipping by the introduction of clear markings, lighting and signalling; ferry services.
