Abstract:
The Laboratory of Geophysical and Industrial Fluid Flows (LEGI) is engaged in numerical and experimental research in Fluid Dynamics, covering environmental as well as industrial flow problems. Its experimental facilities include unique installations such as the Coriolis platform and the caviation tunnel. The numerical simulations make use of the most powerful computers available today.

The LEGI is very active in post-graduate teaching and training and has regularly about 50 Ph.D. students through the post-graduate schools "Mechanics and Energetics" and "Earth, Planetary and, Environnementl Sciences".

The LEGI is a joint laboratory (UMR1599) of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the University Joseph Fourier (UJF) and the Institut National polytechnique of Grenoble (INPG).
