| Abstract |
| As project's main task appears the determination of environmental impacts from river damming on the fish fauna abundance and diversity, with special interest to the protected by Natura 2000 sites (Nestos Gorge and Nestos Delta areas). Extended field surveys will be carried out to describe the present fish fauna and environmental status along the river. Actions for the protection of threatened species of ecological importance for the river's ecosystem will be implemented (as riparian vegetation improvement, artificial reproduction and population enrichment of endangered fish species, reduced flow riparian basins, etc.). |
