Abstract
In catfishes (Clariidae) functional and epigenetic aspects of the ontogeny of head structures will be studied, both in normal as well as in abnormal development, in order to detect the influence of organs on the development of other organs (morphogenesis). In bioluminescent Myctiiformes head structures will be studied on a systematic evolutionary level both on in toto preparations and in serial microscopic sections.
