Abstract
DINAS-COAST is an integrated modelling project that combines state-of-the-art science and data from a range of different disciplines to help policymakers interpret and evaluate coastal vulnerability. The project builds on expertise and methods developed in climate modelling, coastal morphology and ecology, economics, environmental geography and computer science to develop an integrated methodology. To be of practical use to policymakers and other stakeholders, DINAS-COAST will develop a dynamic, interactive and flexible assessment tool on a CD-ROM, called DIVA (Dynamic Interactive Vulnerability Assessment) with which a range of mitigation and adaptation scenarios can be analysed.
