Abstract
The Belgian register of marine and coastal species wants to provide an complete and up-to-date overview of all sea creatures that are living (or have lived) in the Belgian part of the North Sea, on the Belgian beaches, salt marshes, mud-flats, coastal dunes and estuaries. In addition, information cards and photographs/pictures will be provided for each large taxonomic group.

This initiative wants to reach a broad audience and its main goal is to inform people on the species diversity within Belgian marine waters, beaches, salt marshes, mud-flats, coastal dunes and estuaries.

The information collected within this project also contributes to the national Belgian species list, an initiative of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (KBIN).
