Abstract
The intention of this paper is to describe a fairly narrow and integrated approach to the problems of cellular responses to pollutants in marine molluscs. Marine molluscs (Mytilus edulis and related species) and periwinkles (Littorina littorea ) have been found to be highly responsive indicator species in investigations of pollutant toxicology.
