Abstract
The present status of our knowledge of the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases, of the modus agendi and of the therapeutic results achieved with hydroaeroionization suggests employment of this method as a preventive modality. It can be prescribed either as a prophylacticum for improvement of thermoregulation and stimulation of the protective immunobiological forces or for improvement of the general condition as a " secondary prophylaxis " during periods of remission. In this case the total effect embraces metabolism and a number of pertinent physiological factors. Because of the rare occurrence of hemorrhages in patients who underwent hydro-aeroionotherapy, it is probable that this method may be of value preoperatively in cardiac surgery and also during the post-operative period of convalescence. These suggestions are based on the accumulated data derived from the results of hydroaeroionotherapy of patients suffering from rheumatic disorders.
