Abstract
Describes the application of the general wave spectrum, that was developed at the design of the storm surge barrier in the Eastern Scheldt. This spectrum model has been used in several other projects such as the calculation of the wave load on the IJmuiden sea lock, the design of a harbour in India and the redesign of the Closure dike. Here its ease of application was proven and experience was gained as to the values of the parameters in specific cases.
