Abstract
Stability characteristics of tidal channels of the Western Scheldt and of the Wadden Sea are compared. Stability parameters used for the comparison are the maximum discharge, Qmax, the Flood Volume FV (of Tidal Prism) and the mean tidal velocity. It appears that linear trends can be established between the cross-section and the various stability parameters, for each of the two systems, but that the regression relationship is not the same.
