Abstract
A new species of spaerodorid polychaete, Sphaerodorum ophiurophoretos nov. sp., is described. It is characterized by two rows of dorsolateral macrocrotubercles with terminal papillae and two rows of dorsal microcrotubercles without basal collars, as well as by simple setae having both outer and inner denticles. S. ophiurophoretos has been collected near Wimereux (Pas-de-Calais, France) where it is symbiotic with the ophiuroid Amphipholis squamata (DELLE CHIAJE, 1828).
