Abstract
Since the introduction of the Japanese oyster in the Eastern Scheldt it has spread into the Wadden Sea. This growth has a negative impact on the life of various other species in the sea. Seen from a mathematical viewpoint, the biological problem of how to restore the disturbed natural equilibrium has a great complexity. Which solutions can the Study Group Mathematics with Industry supply to tackle this problem?
