| Abstract |
The paper completes a review of shrimps collected off East Africa in 1966. The papers dealing with the genera Solenocera, Penaeus, Metapenaeus, Penaeopsis and Parapenaeus have been published elsewhere. In this paper comparative observations are presented on Parapenaeopsis acclivirostris Alcock, 1905; P.tenella (Bate, 1888); Trachypenaeus sedili Hall, 1962; T. aff. curvisrotris (Stimpson, 1860), and Metapenaeopsis andamanensis (Wood-Mason, 1891) of which P. tenella and T. sedili represent new records from East African waters. Detailed illustrated descriptions of Trachypenaeus starobogatovi Ivanov et Hassan, sp.nov. and Metapenaeopsis kuboi lvanov et Hassan, sp. nov. are given. |
