Abstract
As for other crustacean peracarid taxa (i.e. amphipods, cumaceans, isopods), the mysid fauna of the Caribbean coast of Venezuela remains poorly known. Our study was based on the examination of 111 specimens collected at seven shallow-water marine localities in the Golfo Triste. A total of five genera and five species [Anchialina typica (Krøyer), Bowmaniella dissimilis (Coifmann), Siriella chierchiae Coifmann, Heteromysis guitarti Bacescu and Parvimysis bahamensis Brattegard] were collected from 25 samples taken between 2000 and 2002. Two species reported here (Anchialina typica and Parvimysis bahamensis) are new records for the Caribbean coast of Venezuela and constitute range extensions for the south Caribbean Sea coast.
