Abstract
The GTSPP CD-ROM contains data and documents relevant to the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). The documents contained on the CD-ROM are viewed using a software application named "worldview". Worldview is a product offered by Interleaf, a company that develops and markets high end desktop and Internet publishing software. Worldview documents are built with hyperlinks that allow the user to navigate the information and data on the CD-ROM and launch external applications which in this case includes Ocean PC.In addition to documents the CD-ROM contains data, data retrieval and conversion applications, some GTSPP software, and the Ocean PC application to progress and display the data. These data retrieval and processing applications are launched from within the document collection using worlview hyperlinks. The hyperlinks are within documents that instruct the user on how to extract data and install and start up Ocean PC for processing and viewing it. Thus it is only necessary to sart up Worldview to have access to all the data and information on the CD-ROM.
