Abstract
Recent data on ammonia content in the northwestem part of the Black Sea basin have been carried out during the Prof. Vodyanitsky's vessel expedition in April 1991, performed under EROS-21 programme (sustained by EC). Ammonia contents in the productivity layer of the Black Sea were around the value of 1.0 µM, NH4+ion being thermodynamically the unstable composition in the oxygenate layers of the sea. The result more or less significant of the anthropogenic supplies has been achieved on limited zones, areas directly influenced by the fluvial waters, percentage values being 2-3 times more near Danube mouths comparing with those of the oxic layer from open sea. It has been observed a rapid increase in depth at the anoxic zone level achieving maximum percentage of ~105 µM in deep waters from the central part of the Black Sea basin.
