Abstract
This paper presents and explains the metabolic activity evolution of Chinese carps larvae and juvenile (0+) stages that reared in fresh and brackish waters at 0.6, 4.0, 5.5 and 8.0 g/l. In brackish waters, the metabolic activity process has been intensified with different degrees of significance depending on salinity, species and ages. The silver-carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) has recorded a higher oxygen consumption comparing with the grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella). Also, it has been more sensitive at salinity concentration.
