Abstract
Gymnodorvillea floridana , n.gen., n.sp. (Polychaeta: Dorvilleidae), is proposed for specimens collected off southeastern Florida. Gymnodorvillea appears to be a continuation of the Schistomeringos-Pettiboneia line of dorvilleid evolution. The principal diagnostic characters are the complete lack of prostomial appendages and dorsal cirri, and a unique jaw apparatus.
