| Abstract |
This paper presents the main results of the Romanian research on the temporal variation of the Marocco pilchard fishery and biological characteristics of this species in the Mauritanian sector belonging to the FAO statistical areas 34.1.3 and 34.3.1. That research is to be added to the previous Romanian investigations begun in 1967 and to include our national contribution to a better knowledge of the actual state of the Marocco pilchard stock in the Mauritanian area. This paper includes references to the temporal variation of the Romanian fishery of that species, as well as of its catch, fishing effort, c.p.u.e., distribution, migration, and main biological parameters (structure by length classes, weight and age; length/weight relationship; growing parameters; mortality coefficients). |
