Abstract
Since 1986 the temporal variation of the oil pollution in the Romanian Black Sea coastal zone has been studied at our Institute by correlating the contribution of oil originated pollutants with the analysis of the effects of the chronica1 oil pollution on the marine environment. This study presents the analytical results of 1990-1997 UV spectrophotometrical dosing of total hydrocarbon content in the sea water in the marine zones exposed to loading with oil polluting agent, namely: the marine zone of the Danube discharge, the southern littoral area between Navodari and Vama Veche, the area of Gloria drilling rig exploitation, Constanta port area. The research has found the oil pollutant was permanently present in the samples studied, and the loading degree was specific for each area and influenced by the predominant hydroc1imatic conditions.
