Abstract
The presence of Libidoclaea smithi (Miers, 1886) was determinated in the axis ofthe Biobio submarine canyon (36 degree 49' 15 double prime S; 73 degree 17' 03double prime W). This finding extends the latitudinal range of this species up toConcepcion area, being only previously reported from Southern Chile, betweenCalbuco and the Straits of Magellan (Garth, 1957; Retamal, 1981).
