Abstract
This study examines the use of ecological and environmental data in the assessment of the impact of groundwater abstraction form aquifers underlying the West Frisian Islands of the Dutch Wadden Sea coast. According to the type of impact or system perturbation the groundwater level may fluctuate or change in quality. Much of the vegetation in duneslacks is sensitive to changes in groundwater table and water quality. In this study it is shown how ecological and hydrological data are used to asses the impact of groundwater abstraction in a duneslack on Terschelling.
