Abstract
A preliminary assessment is offered of the phylogenetic position of the class Remipedia in the context of conflicting theories of crustacean evolution. Some crucial information has yet to be assembled, but there would appear to be some justification for seriously reconsidering the Biramous Theory of Cannon and Manton (1927) as opposed to the Cephalocarid Theory of Sanders (1957).
