Abstract
World Environmental and Water Resources Congress 2008: Ahupua’a contains 609 papers presented at the congress held from May 12-16, 2008 in Honolulu, HI. The conference theme this year is Ahupua’a, which is a watershed-based political land division extending from the surrounding mountain ridges to the coastal ocean extending out to and including the coral reef. Ancient Hawaiian life was based around the ahupua’a system of sustainable land management.
