Abstract
    A single juvinile specimen of the Stout Bobtail squid Rossia macrosoma, fam. Sepiolidae, is reported for the first time from the Eastern Mediterranean off the coast of Israel. It was caught at a depth of 375m during an ecological monitoring project of the Atidim gas fields off Ashqelon
