Abstract
Two specimens of a relatively small species of Octopus collected along the Mediterranean coast of Israel are identified provisionally as Octopus cfaegina, an Indo-Pacific species, which occurs also commonly in the Red Sea. Similar specimens belonging to the aegina-complex have also been recorded from the southern coast of Turkey (Salman et al., 1999)
