Sea pollution has become increasingly alarming these days. In addition to industry and shipping transport, tourism also largely contributes to this phenomenon. Not only is there the drainage into the sea of domestic effluent from tourist centers and guest houses along the coast, but also there are many forms of waste left behind by holiday-makers or thrown overboard from pleasure-crafts. This sort of pollution is threatening the coastal areas, affecting to no lesser degree coastal tourism. Information and education of tourists should promote a more environmantal-minded behaviour |
