Abstract
Dynamics of number and biomass of zooplankton in the open part of Khanka Lake is reviewed on the basis of plankton samples had gathered in the different seasons in 1990-1994. Brief hydrologic characteristic of the Lake is presented. Four hydro biological seasons are determined. Composition of zooplankton of the open part of the Lake is described. According to their residing type, plankters divided into two groups: pelagic and neritic, which differed by character of distribution. Mixing the water by wind plays the basic role in distribution of zooplankton. About 5 peaks of biomass of plankton animals were marked in different years, however during one year they were 1-3. 3-5 species formed the basis of zooplankton in iceless period which is 80-90 % from total biomass of plankton animals-they were Epischura chankensis, Diaphanosoma chankensis, Mesocyclops leuckarti, Daphnia longispina and Bosmina fatalis.
