Abstract
Conditions of feeding juvenile chum salmon in Narva Bay (Peter the Great Bay) are considered. Thermal conditions, conditions of feeding, and growth of juveniles are compared to different years. The dependence of value of adult chum returning to Narva Bay on the value of daily growth of juveniles is traced in the period of investigation (1987-1990). Conclusion is made, that the growth could be regarded as sufficiently faithful factor to characterize the conditions of juveniles' feeding in shallows and that the number of juveniles is adequate to food ability of inhabitation.
