Abstract
    The Second International Coordination Meeting for the Development of a Tsunami Warning andMitigation System for the Indian Ocean was held in Grand Baie, Mauritius, between 14 and 16 April2005. The Meeting was attended by nearly 192 participants from 24 countries in the Indian Oceanregion, 9 other IOC Member States, 12 organizations, and 27 observers. The Meeting took note ofreports on national progress with the development of national tsunami warning systems and adoptedthe Mauritius declaration. Several donors pledged support towards the development of the TsunamiWarning and Mitigation System for the Indian Ocean.
