Abstract
Snook, C. undecimalis , have been tagged in the Naples-Marco Island region of southwest Florida, USA, to study movement, growth and population dynamics. Internal anchor tags were applied, either alone or in combination with dart tags, to assess the magnitude of dart tag failure. The loss of a great quantity of data, time money and effort indicates that before use of dart tags, the desired tag should be tested under model conditions similar to those expected in the field, prior to the initiation of a large scale project.
