Abstract
Brine shrimp, Artemia sp. populations from cysts poor in essential fatty acids (EFA) for marine fish and crustacean larvae, were raised and induced to produce cysts using two live algal diets: Dunaliella tertiolecta and Tetraselmis suecica. The analyses of the main fatty acids of these cysts revealed a different composition from the original ones, thus showing an influence of the diets.
